The common thread that links all my work is a fascination with movement and the ambiguity of layers of transient images transformed by light. Influenced by my work as a theatre designer, I have mainly used silk organza that I paint with procion dyes to clad and drape within metal sculptures that have evolved from naturally occurring shapes and patterns. The work can be for public and private spaces and varies in scale from the very small to huge in vast public spaces. This is now changing as technology is fast evolving, propelling me to create using new exciting materials.
