Elaines new work has been influenced by a recent excursion to the Arctic. The unique landscape and 24 hour sun light has inspired these moody and dramatic representations of the mirror calm icy waters.
Elaine manipulates the paint in these pieces to create minimal tonal planes, simplistic linear structures, splodges and drips, thus creating a delicate and calculated balance between control and accident.
